St. Patrick's History

So let’s get down to it, what is the history of St. Patty’s day?  Well, let’s start with the obvious, it was named after Saint Patrick who live from AD 387-461.  But did you know that when he was 16 that he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken to Ireland as a slave?  He later escaped, became a priest and came back to Ireland.  It is Irish lore that says one of St. Patrick’s teaching methods was using the shamrock to explain the Christian doctrine of the trinity to the Irish people.

You may ask why do we wear green?  Actually, originally blue was associated with St. Patrick, but over the years green became the color associated with him when green ribbons and shamrocks were worn to celebrate his day.

So, now that we know a little bit about St. Patty’s day (other than just drinking green beer) let the inspiration flow through us and let’s get inspired!
